Seigaiha (Blue ocean waves)
This typical geometric pattern uses concentric semicircles superimposed to represent waves. In the Edo period it was also referred to as seihasui' (blue wave waters).
 
半円を連ねて波を様式化した、代表的な割付文様のひとつ。
江戸時代には「青波水」とも呼ばれていました。
